Seasons of Gratitude - Reflections on a Year of Growth and Connection

Seasons of Gratitude - Reflections on a Year of Growth and Connection

Seasons of Gratitude

As Autumn draws to a close and the air turns crisp with the scent of fallen leaves, I find myself reflecting on this past year - one filled with creative milestones, meaningful encounters, and endless reasons to be thankful.

In 2025 it all began beneath the bright skies of the Strawberry Festival in Hampstead, where Rust & Leaf first set up among the laughter and scent of summer berries. From there came The Vintage Bazaar at Kimball Farm in Haverhill, where I met so many of you for the first time - kindred spirits who connected with the stories behind my silver.  That weekend brought my very first contest, with Emma winning a pair of Deanna Flower Earrings and Aimee receiving a $25 gift card.  Their joy still warms my heart.

The summer months were spent in a different kind of creative harvest - long days at the bench, shaping new pieces and working diligently to bring my website to life.  It finally bloomed late in the season - a living, evolving space that will continue to grow just as I do.  Ever the perfectionist, many people say to just start before you are ready.  I have finally launched and it will continue to evolve!

Then came the golden days of fall and The Vintage Bazaar’s new home at Crescent Farm. The fields were filled with laughter once again, and I hosted another giveaway - this time, a Deanna Flower Ring that found its way to Sandra, who shared the most beautiful photo wearing it. Seeing my work become part of your lives is the truest reward.

This season also brought an opportunity close to my heart - donating a pair of my Birch Heart Leaf Earrings in Autumn Copper to a comedy charity event benefiting “It Takes a Herd,” a dementia-friendly program created by my dear friend Karen Coppola in support of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.  To see handmade art play even a small part in such meaningful work is deeply humbling.

As we turn toward November and the season of gratitude, I feel both grounded and inspired - grateful for each person I’ve met along this journey, for every story shared, and for the quiet beauty of the changing seasons that continues to fuel my creativity.

I’m already looking ahead to my next in-person event, the Hampstead Congregational Church Christmas Craft Fair on December 6, 2025, where I’ll host another special contest - though this one will be a little surprise.

Thank you, truly, for being part of this journey - for your kindness, encouragement, and love for handmade work. Each piece I create carries a bit of that shared spirit.

Here’s to what’s next - to winter’s shimmer, to stories still unfolding, and to all there is to be thankful for. 🌿
